Kelly DePonte

Kelly has forty years of industry experience and is responsible for Probitas Partners’ research. Prior to joining Probitas Partners, Kelly was Chief Operating Officer and Managing Director at Pacific Corporate Group (“PCG”), a leading provider of alternative investment advisory, management and consulting services. Kelly oversaw the partnership investment program, which comprised more than $20 billion in capital dedicated globally to private equity. Before joining PCG, Kelly held various senior positions at First Interstate Bancorp, including management of a $170 million venture capital portfolio, oversight of all financial derivative activity in the corporation and its banks, and analysis and management of capital and liquidity positions of First Interstate subsidiaries.

Kelly is also a Member of the Advisory Board of the Investment Management Due Diligence Association (IMDDA.org) providing advice on closed-end fund due diligence. Previously, he served on the Editorial Advisory Board of The Review of Private Equity, and he is the editor of several books published by PEI Media: “The Definitive Guide to Private Equity Fund Due Diligence” (1st & 2nd editions); “The Definitive Guide to Distressed Debt and Turnaround Investing” (1st & 2nd editions); and “A Guide to Private Equity Fund of Funds Managers” (2nd edition). Kelly earned a BA in Communications from Stanford University and an MBA from The Anderson Graduate School of Management at UCLA.

Tomas Faber

Tomas has eleven years of industry experience and is responsible for Probitas Partners’ relationship management activities. Prior to joining Probitas Partners, Tomas was an Associate at MVision Private Equity Advisers in New York. At MVision, Tomas was responsible for alternative fund distribution effort predominantly in eastern North America and South America, where he was responsible for developing and maintaining key investor relationships. Tomas also assisted with the project management efforts for alternative fund managers in North and South America across all asset classes. Prior to MVision, Tomas was a Senior Analyst at Morgan Stanley in the Equity Capital Markets group as well as an Analyst in the Investment Banking division covering financial institutions. Tomas earned a BS from Arizona State University.

Caryn Feinberg

Caryn has twenty-four years of industry experience and is primarily responsible for Probitas Partners’ fund origination efforts. Caryn previously worked as director of investor relations for Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP), a private equity infrastructure fund. Prior to joining Probitas Partners, Caryn was Senior Director at SecondMarket, Inc., where she was responsible for structuring and implementing the firm’s secondary trading market for private banks and expanding the third-party sales channel to attract private equity funds, venture and hedge fund clients. Earlier in her career, Caryn held a variety of management positions at Citigroup, including roles in sales and marketing, operations, investor relations, and equity research. She earned an MBA in Strategic Management from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a BS in Business Management from Cornell University.

Philip Marchal

Philip has twenty-five years of industry experience and is responsible for Probitas Partners’ relationship management activities. Prior to joining Probitas Partners, Philip was a Managing Director in Equity Capital Markets at BMO Capital Markets, where he was responsible for origination and execution of equity financing mandates for the firm’s Healthcare and Technology clients. Prior to BMO Capital Markets, Philip was a Principal at ThinkEquity Partners, and before that a Vice President at JP Morgan Securities where in both roles he originated and executed private and public equity financings for companies across all industry sectors. Philip began his career as an investigator with the US Department of Commerce. Philip earned an MBA in Finance and Strategic Management from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, an MA in European Studies and International Economics from Johns Hopkins’ Nitze School of Advanced International Studies, and a BA in Government from Dartmouth College.
